How much do custom blinds cost?
The cost of custom blinds varies widely, depending on the window size, material, and brand. Motorization, specialty fabrics, and unusual window shapes add to the price. We offer options from trusted affordable lines to premium products. Our consultants are here to help you find a window treatment that suits your space and budget.
Are custom blinds worth it?
For most homes, yes. Custom blinds are measured to your exact windows, so they fit cleanly, block light properly, and last longer than stock sizes. You also choose the fabric, colour, and operation to suit the room instead of settling for what’s on a shelf. Like anything that’s custom-fit, they simply look and work better.
How do motorized blinds work?
A small motor inside the headrail raises and lowers the blind. You control it with a remote, a wall switch, a phone app, or a voice assistant. Most of our customers like to have their blinds run on an automated open/close schedule, so the blinds move with the sun across the four seasons. We carry motorization from several brands, including Lutron, Somfy, Hunter Douglas, and Altex and can explain the differences when you visit our showroom.
Can you motorize existing blinds?
Sometimes, but it depends on the product. Many blinds are built for a specific motor at the factory, so motorizing them later isn’t always possible or cost-effective. Speak with one of our consultants; they will check what you have and tell you if they can be retrofitted.
